四年级上册 Unit 7 How much? (Period 1)

一、教学目标

1. 知识目标

(1) 能听懂、会说、会读单词、词组:yuan, umbrella, only, twenty-eight, fan, shoes, socks;

well done, how much

(2) 能听懂、会说、会读、会运用日常用语:Can I help you?

                                       How much is it / are they?

                                       It’s / They’re … yuan.

2. 技能目标

(1) 能综合运用本课新知在不同情境下进行交际。

(2) 能理解并正确朗读、分角色表演Story time。

(3) 能了解并组织义卖活动,用所学语言知识进行交际。

3. 情感目标

(1) 让学生敢于用英语询问价格,掌握日常交际的能力。

(2) 引导学生关心弱势群体,尽一己之能帮助他们。

(3) 鼓励学生主动评价物品,培养个人和集体荣誉感。

二、教学重、难点:

教学重点:

(1)    能听懂、会说、会读单词及句型:shoes, socks;

(3)    能了解并组织义卖活动,用所学语言知识进行交际。

三、教学准备:课件,课堂练习纸,一把伞,一双短袜,一双鞋子,募捐盒,纸币

四、教学过程

Step 1 Warming up

1. Enjoy a video about a charity sale

2. Enjoy a song < How much? >

3. Daily work: f /f/: five  I have five dolls.

            l /l/: lion  I don’t like lions.   /l/: little  Look at this little bird. …

Step 2 Presentation

1. T: Five and six are both numbers. Let’s play a number game.

Play the game: If you see a number, say it out. If you see a bomb, say ‘Oh, no!’.

Level up: 20  28  25  23

2. Teach: twenty (twelve)   twenty-one   twenty-eight

T: Numbers are useful. They mean prices.

Teach: ¥11  eleven yuan  

Practise: ¥5  five yuan     ¥13  thirteen yuan     ¥26  twenty-six yuan 

¥9  nine yuan

3. Pair work: Guess the prices

Show some pictures, ask and answer in pairs, guess the prices.

Teach: how much     How much is it?           How much are they?

                   It’s … yuan.               They’re … yuan.

Say together: The pencil case is twenty-six yuan.       The hamburger is thirteen yuan.

           The stickers are nine yuan.              The newspapers are five yuan.

4. T: I read a piece of news on the newspaper yesterday. A boy called Taotao is very ill.

He needs to see the doctor. But his family is poor. They need help. What can you do for them?

    S1: 捐钱    S2: 义卖   S3: 宣传,呼吁大家相助

  Show the pictures of a charity sale, introduce the charity sale.

Step 3 Presentation

1. T: Miss Li and her students are having a charity sale. They want to help Taotao. Would you like to join them?

  S: Yes.

  T: If you did a good job, I’ll give you some money. You can use the money to buy things.

2. Enjoy the story and find out the persons on the charity sale.

  Su Hai, Su Yang, Liu Tao, Yang Ling, Mike and Miss Li

3. Look at the picture and find out the things they sell on the charity sale.

  Teach: a fan,  an umbrella,  socks,  shoes (show a tip)

4. Look at the picture again and find out the customs.

  Mike, Yang Ling, Liu Tao

5. Watch the cartoon and answer: What would they like?

  T: What would Liu Tao / Mike / Yang Ling like?

  S1: Liu Tao would like some shoes.        Yang Ling would like some socks.

     Mike would like a umbrella.

Show the pictures and describe them:

These shoes / socks are           .        This umbrella is             .

6. Read the story by themselves and match the things and the prices.

S: The shoes are five yuan. The socks are four yuan. The umbrella is nineteen yuan.

T: How much are they?

S: They’re twenty-eight yuan.

7. Look at the four pictures of the story, discuss with your partners: What are they saying?

 Teach: Can I help you?  The socks are very nice.  This umbrella is cool.  Well done.

 Read the dialogues in pairs

Step 4 Presentation

1. Read the story after the CAI twice, pay attention to the reading marks.

  Read it together, imitate the tones and pronunciations.

Read it in groups of four, choose different ways to read.

    a. read one by one   b. read together   c. read in roles

2. Dub for the story

3. Act the story in groups of four, try to act it better.

Act fluently —— Good!

Act it out with emotions and actions —— Well done!

4. Summary

5. T: Continue the charity sale with your friends, and raise more money for Taotao. Maybe we can go to the hospital and visit Taotao.

Step 5 Homework

1. Listen and read the story after the tape, try to act it in groups.

2. Preview Fun time and Cartoon time of Unit7. Draw some word cards and write their prices on them.

3. Help others and share your happiness!
