Step1. Free talk

T:What day is it today?

How many days are there in a week?

Which day do you like best?

What do you usually do on …day?

S:

T:I like … best. I usually read books and do some housework.

1.About housework

T: Do you do housework at home? What housework can you do ?(是否需要PPT呈现家务图片辅助学生回答?)

S:

T: You can do a lot of housework to help your parents. You are helpful.

2.Introduce the topic

Today we’ll learn Unit5 Helping our parents

 

Step2. In the morning

1.About Helen

T: Look, it is 7 :00 in the morning on Saturday. Helen is at home. What is she doing?Try to guess?

S: 引导学生根据PPT呈现的句型She is …ing. Helen正在做的事。

T:Look! She is sweeping the floor. (在此结合图片,先教学sweep the floor,再结合句型,教学She is sweeping the floor.)

2. About mother

T: What about mother? What is she doing?

S: 引导学生根据PPT呈现的句型She is …ing. mother正在做的事。

T:She is cooking breakfast. (在此结合图片,先教学cook, cook breakfast,再结合句型,教学She is cooking breakfast.)

3.About father, Mike and Tim

Guess

T: We know mother is cooking breakfast. Helen is sweeping the floor. She is helping mother.

What about father, Mike and Tim? What are they doing?

Try to guess first.

S:PPT呈现三个人物,以已接触句型He is …ing为辅助,让学生三个人各自正在做什么。

Listen and choose

T:Now let’s listen and choose. Before listening, let’s read. (读题)

S: 学生听左边课文录音,选择。

Check the answers

T:let’s check. What is father doing? 

S: He is cleaning the car.

T: How do you know that? Because Mike says? (出示课文,引导学生读原句)

以相同方法校对Mike和Tim正在做的事情。

Read after the tape

T: Let’s read after the tape. Pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation.

Retell

T: Then, let’s retell. Practise by yourselves first.

S: 根据板书和图片练习复述。

Check.

Summarize

T: Oh, they are busy on Saturday morning.

 

Step3. In the afternoon

Talk in pairs

T:  Look, what time is it now? Who comes and visits them?

What are they doing now? Let’s talk.

S: 根据提示句型和课文图片,同桌练习说他们正在做的事情。

Guess

T: Where’ s Dad? What is he doing? Can you guess?

S:学生猜测。

Read after the tape

T: Let’s read after the tape. Pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation.

Retell

T: Then, let’s retell.

S: 根据板书和图片逐句进行复述。

Summarize

T: Oh, they are busy in the afternoon too.

 

Step 4. Post reading

Read the whole story

Retell the story

T: Can you retell the whole story?

If you can retell one scene, you can get 2 stars.

If you can retell 2 scenes, you can get 3stars.

 

Step5. Summarize

Evaluation on Helen and Mike

T: You did a good job!

Look at Mike and Helen. They are helping their parents a lot.

What do you think of them?

S: 评价Helen 和Mike的表现。

Evaluation on Tim

T:They are helpful. I think they are good children. What about Tim? Is he helpful too?

S: 学生根据自己的理解说说自己对Tim的评价。

T:不管学生说了什么,教师进行正面引导, 可根据学生和自己的语言调整。

Tim isn’t doing housework. But I think he is helpful too. He behaves well while mother and father are busy. He is a good boy.

Emotion

情感能否小一点?比如:Please help your parents more. Because it can bring the whole family happiness.
