一、教学内容

    译林版牛津小学英语五上《At weekends》 Story time (Period 1)

二、教学目标

1.知识目标

(1)能初步听懂、会说、会读单词及短语:visit,always,often,sometimes,at weekends,      

  grandparent,play with,very much,chat,Internet,go to the cinema

(2)能初步听懂、会说、会读句型:What do you do at weekends?及其答语I always/usually/often/sometimes…

(3)能整体理解文本内容,读通、读懂并能正确地朗读对话,根据文本信息进行初步的语言输出。

2.能力目标

(1) 能初步听懂、会说、会读句型:What do you do at weekends?及其答语I always/usually/often/sometimes…谈论周末活动

(2)能初步听懂、会说、会读、理解频率副词:sometimes,always,usually,often。

(3)能整体理解文本内容,读通、读懂并能正确地朗读对话,根据文本信息进行初步的语言输出。

Step 1 Warm up

1.     Enjoy a song 《At weekends》

Question:What’s the song about?

A.  Weekdays.   B. Weekends.

T: Yes. In the song, the children do not go to school on Saturdays or Sundays. They usually swim at weekends. So we call Saturdays and Sundays weekends.

Teach: weekends(week+end—weekends)

Step 2 Pre—reading

1.     Talk about students’ weekends

T: What do you do at weekends? You can answer like this "I usually..."

S1: I usually…

S2: I usually…

S2: I usually…

T: I think some of you usually do your homework. Some of you have different lessons at weekends. Some of you do some interesting things too.

2.     Talk about the teacher’s weekends

T: How about me? If you want to know my weekends, you can ask me…?

S: What do you do at weekends, Miss Jiao?

my room clean. I always play with my son. I like playing with him.

Teach: always 

T: I often go to the supermarket. I often buy something to eat and drink.

T: Do you like chatting on the Internet? If you like chatting on the Internet, don't chat for a long time. It's bad for your eyes.              

Step3  While—reading

1.     Try to ask questions

T: Now you know something about my weekends. What do you think of my weekends? Yes, my weekends are busy. Our friends are talking about their weekends too. What do you want to know? Think it over.

S: Whose weekends are they talking about? / What do they do at weekends?

2.     Get the main idea

T: First,let's focus on the first question. Whose weekends are they talking about? Look at the pictures carefully. I think it's easy for you.

S: They are talking about Su Hai, Mike and Helen's weekends.

3.     Get details

①  Su Hai’s weekends

T:And I want to know "What does Su Hai do at weekends?" What do you want to know?

S: What does Mike do at weekends?/ What does Helen do at weekends?"

a.Listen and tick

Q: What does Su Hai do at weekends?

T : Yes, Su Hai and Su Yang like playing with the cat. Su Hai visits her grandparents with Su Yang. They often have dinner with their grandparents.

Teach: visit, grandparents(grandma & grandpa)

Read after the tape. Please listen carefully and imitate the prounciation and intonation.(跟读)

Retell Su Hai’s weekends by the mind map.

T: What do you think of her weekends?

S: Her weekends are very warm.

T: How about Mike and Helen? What does Mike do at weekends? What does Helen do at weekends? Please read about their weekends by yourself. Then try to finish the mind map. (自读完成导图)

T: Why does he chat with his grandparents at weekends.

  Why does he not visit his grandparents?

③ Helen’s weekends

Check the answer and teach “cinema”. People watch films there.

Read after the tape.

T: We think Su Hai's weekends are warm. What do you think of Mike's weekends?

S: Mike do many different things at weekends. I think his weekends are colourful.

S: Her weekends are relaxing.

Step 4  Post—reading

①  Read the story with the video.

②  Retell the children's weekends.

③  Conclusion

   T: We know, Miss Jiao's weekends are busy, Su Hai's weekends are warm. Mike's weekends are colourful. And Helen's weekends are relaxing. How about your weekends? You can design your dream weekends.
